Job Description:
Bellevue University, the largest private, non-profit University
in Nebraska, is seeking a full-time faculty member to fill an
Assistant Professor position in the College of Science and
Technology. This position will focus on general education
technology and related foundational courses, both in-class and
online, and is best filled by a highly engaged educator with a
strong desire to work with a diverse student population consisting
of first-generation, non-traditional, and traditional students who
are new to college. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate
knowledge in a variety of areas such as computer fundamentals,
usage of Microsoft Office 365, other office/business applications,
information security, and critical thinking. Digital media and
design thinking skills are also desired. Additional
responsibilities include oversight of curriculum and management of
adjunct faculty performance. Performance Functions:
- Teach a variety of foundational technology and related courses.
Bellevue University delivers courses during Fall, Winter, Spring,
and Summer terms each year.
- Actively engage with students and provide constructive feedback
on assignments.
- Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the
educational process.
- Select and manage adjunct instructors for assigned
courses.
- Develop and maintain curricula for online and in-residence
formats at the undergraduate level.
- Participate in course and program assessment where
applicable.
- Participate in committee/community service as assigned.
- Other duties as agreed upon by the Program Director, Dean, or
Assistant Dean. Qualifications/Skills:
- Master s Degree in Information/Computer Technology, Computer
Science, or a related field is required; PhD in like fields is
desired.
- Teaching experience in higher education. Prior experience in
K-12 education is considered.
- Demonstrated expertise using Microsoft Office 365
applications.
- Online teaching experience using the Blackboard LMS is
desired.
- This position is located in Bellevue, Nebraska, on the Bellevue
University main campus.
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States without the
