Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school district in Lincoln, NE is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support elementary students at an onsite elementary school location. This contract position is available immediately and will continue through May 22, 2026, with options for full days or afternoon-only shifts. Responsibilities include: Providing clear and effective sign language interpretation for elementary students Facilitating communication between students, teachers, and staff in the classroom setting Ensuring accessibility to classroom instruction and activities for deaf or hard-of-hearing students Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times Qualifications: Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings, preferably with elementary age students Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification or license; a provisional license is acceptable if the EIPA score is below 4.0 Ability to work onsite at the school during scheduled hours Flexibility for either a full-day schedule (7:45 AM to 3:15 PM) or afternoon-only shift (11:00 AM to 3:15 PM) Location: Lincoln, Nebraska (at an elementary school within the district) This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the educational success of deaf and hard-of-hearing students in a supportive school environment.
