Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:We are looking for an
accountable Project Engineer to be responsible for all engineering
and technical disciplines that projects involve. You will schedule,
plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities
aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to
completion. You will also execute a variety of projects across all
Universal Pure plants for automation of operations. This position
will report into the company's Operations Group that supports 8
manufacturing sites.Identify/Scope/Manage automation
programs/projects across the company's entire manufacturing
systemCapital projects/programs to range from $0.1 to $2
millionProvides expert consultation in multiple areas for the
design, development and implementation of automated equipment and
systemsDevelops breakthrough solutions to improve the efficiency of
line operations through the application of automationPerform
vetting analysis for all projects, includes financial, operational
and technical analysisCreate and manage Capital Authorization
Requests (CAR's)Develops process methods and controls to meet
quality standardsDevelops, writes, implements, submits and/or
presents various technical reports or CARs in support of cost
reduction and operational efficiency improvementsPrepare standard
work and training protocol for the operation, maintenance and
troubleshooting of equipment and systems installedManage
multidisciplinary teams as well as contractors/consultants and
vendorsTroubleshoots mechanical, electrical equipment and process
issues and provides technical leadership and training to resolve
sameFollow health, safety, and cleanliness standardsExcellent
attendance and punctuality for a salary roleHandle any minor tasks
related to the duties of the positionProject Engineer Knowledge,
Skills & Abilities:Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 3+ years
of applicable experience requiredFundamental understanding of first
principles required in the design and manufacture of automation
systemsKnowledge and experience with Lean Concepts and Continuous
Improvement activitiesSix Sigma experience preferredProven root
problem solving skills on processes, such as: Pareto
generation/analysis, Fishbone Diagram, Five Whys, Failure Mode and
Effects Analysis (FMEA)Demonstrated application of complex
concepts, practices and procedures within particular engineering
fieldAdvanced Microsoft Office skills and proficient in
AutoCADDemonstrated leadership abilities and motivational
skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and establish
prioritiesAbility to communicate effectively, both written and
verbalAbility to travel 65% of the time for technology research,
supplier evaluations and checkouts, plant installations and
startups as well as ongoing training and supportProject Engineer
Demands and Working Conditions:Requires occasional heavy physical
work; heavy lifting, pushing,or pulling required of objects up to
50 pounds.Work may involve some exposure to hazards or physical
risks, which require following basic safety precautions.Work may
involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme
temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or
loud noises.This role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated
environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing,
warehousing, and production type facility. Must be able to
