practice.As a Manager of Plant Operations, the main responsibility
is for all construction and plant related projects and activities,
including ALLOs existing markets and future expansion. The Manager
will be responsible for day to day operations, ensuring projects
are completed on time and are functioning smoothly. The Manager of
Plant Operations is responsible for hitting pre-construction and
construction due dates, interval, quality and safety objectives and
maintenance of all existing facilities in all markets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Searching for underground fiber optics and accurately marking
the location.
- Completing all necessary paperwork
- Maintaining daily contact with utility managers, crews,
homeowners, and contractors discussing locate issues.
- Receiving daily locates via computer/device.
- Prioritizing your daily work by going through all locate
requests to determine routing.
- Reading and understanding provided maps to assist in
identification of underground fiber optics.
- Ensuring that customers and contractors suffer no damages or
injuries due to mis-located fiber optics.
- Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner, and working
periodic weekend or evening on-call rotation.
- Work closely with GIS/CAD personnel to insure that up to date
fiber maps are accurate for system and contract personnel.
- Provide a safe work environment by being knowledgeable of and
enforcing all state, local, federal safety regulations and company
safety policies.
- Operate and monitor company-owned vehicle by inspecting
condition daily and maintaining a valid driver's license.EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of underground utility construction and your assigned
geographic region.
- Basic knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word and GIS/CAD.
- Skills to effectively communicate with internal and external
customers, contractors and company employees.
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day in all weather
conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to
bend/stoop/kneel/crawl
- Flexibility and temperament to adapt to sudden challenges and
changing work conditions
- Willingness to change schedule at short notice to respond to
emergency calls.
- Availability for weekend on-call duty, as required
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug
screen
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to operate a company vehicle and maintain a valid
driver's license.Attention to detail is paramount. Ability to read
and interpret legal descriptions. Ability to work independently on
multifaceted projects. Strong verbal and written communication
skills to present facts clearly and accurately in graphic form.
Demonstrate ability to train and lead others, meet deadlines and
make independent decisions within guidelines. Previous experience
in the communication industry a plus. Experience working to tight
deadlines. Excellent analytical skills. Must be able to work
overtime as required.
