Job Description:
Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession:
Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day
and Night Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: - 2 years of
Operating Room RN experience required - Must have Oncology Surgery
experience - General surgery experience is essential - Level 2
trauma experience required; Level 1 is preferred License: - Active
nursing license required Certifications: - BLS required Must-Have:
- Experience with major surgical procedures including Whipple,
Esophagectomy, and others - DaVinci experience preferred -
Experience in Oncology, Orthopedic, and Neurosurgical care highly
preferred Description: MUST HAVE Oncology Surgery experience with
general surgery experience. Float is required. Looking for a
well-rounded RN as they will be working outside of the specialty
hired for. Weeknight call requirements are 1-2 nights per week on
average. Weekend call requirements are approximately every 4-5
weeks. There is a possibility for off-shifting once every 4-week
scheduling period, but many times, there is no off-shifting. The
block schedule cannot be accommodated. Experience with a majority
of the following cases is required: Whipple, Esophagectomy, Ex Lap,
Bowel resection, Thyroidectomy, Parathyroidectomy,
Adrenalectomy-Laparoscopic, Neck dissection, Breast reduction,
Stage one and two breast reconstruction, Free Flaps, Mastectomy,
Lumpectomy, Sentinel lymph node biopsy, and Melanoma excisions.
Travelers must be more than 100 miles from the facility. All
applicants must have a nursing license obtained before the
submission. Requested Time Off must be included at the time of
submission. No time off is allowed during the first week of
orientation. There is a requirement of 2 weekend shifts in a 4-week
period. All contracts must end on a Sunday. Compliance documents
must be submitted by the specified deadline.
