Job Description:
The Market Director Clinical Informatics reporting to the Region
Chief Clinical Informatics Officer (CCIO), plays a pivotal
leadership role in informing the strategic planning and the
implementation of new functionalities at the market level. The
Market Director will focus on supporting clinical integration and
delivering project outcomes. This role is accountable for
implementing programs and optimization requests to drive
performance improvement through the deployment and utilization of
new and existing clinical Health IT systems. Will be accountable to
develop and lead programs that manage and integrate clinical
systems, thereby enhancing patient safety, workflow efficiency and
functionality, ensuring effective communication of clinical
information across the care continuum, and maintaining data
integrity. Provides expert consultation to senior business leaders
at the market level such as hospital COO, CFO, CMO, CNO, CMIO,
Medical Group Presidents, Executive Directors, and Medical Staff
Leadership to promote improved quality of patient care. Keeps
current with changes and trends in the Informatics, Training, and
Healthcare IT arena with a strong commitment to lifelong learning.
*Although remote, this role necessitates regular travel to
facilities across Nebraska. Applicants must live within Nebraska.
ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Leads market clinical
informatics plans, data analysis, and serves as a champion for
clinical projects and systems that support efficiency and
effectiveness for end users, with the primary goal of advancing
evidence-based practice. • Leads the implementation of market level
clinical systems in collaboration with administration, physicians,
nurses, ancillary, staff departmental teams, informatics staff, IT
staff, corporate staff, System Clinical Informatics staff and third
party consultants and educators. • Oversee the implementation of
market-level clinical systems in collaboration with administration,
physicians, nurses, ancillary staff, departmental teams,
informatics staff, IT staff, system clinical informatics staff, and
third-party consultants and educations. • Provide oversight and
direction to processes related to maintaining and improving
application standards for architecture and required workflow
adoption by end users. • Direct a team of expert informaticists in
consultative activities with key business owners across the region
to define new IT solution requirements aimed at performance
improvement and quality of care. Ensure the clinical content within
the electronic record supports both clinical and business needs
region and market-wide. • Develop, manage, and monitor specific
metrics in collaboration with regional quality and safety
leadership. Provide clinical and business leaders with benefits
realization, ROI definition, baseline and post-implementation
metrics, and reporting. Oversee metric performance to assess the
status of the market. • Identify areas for performance improvement
in clinical applications that can be integrated into new system
development. Act as a business sponsor for new changes and model
effective change management strategies. Serve as a role model for
innovation in healthcare, setting appropriate targets for
professional development within the regional clinical informatics
team. • Ensure that the customer perspective drives actions and
business decisions. Develop and implement service practices that
meet customer and organizational needs by improving change
governance methods. • Develop, refine, and communicate tactical
plans for EHR Change Management in alignment with CommonSpirit
Healths strategic and clinical goals. • Direct and manage people,
projects, and tasks collaboratively. Coach others to achieve
optimal performance, delegate effectively, recognize contributions,
define clear roles and responsibilities, set goals, lead
initiatives, and adjust plans as necessary. Empower and share
authority and responsibility with others while holding staff
accountable. Job Requirements Required Education and Experience •
Bachelors Degree in related discipline required; Masters Degree
strongly preferred. • Minimum of seven (7) years related healthcare
experience and minimum 5 years of leadership experience required.
Required Licensure and Certifications • Healthcare Clinical
Licensure required – Nursing, pharmacy, or Allied Health Preferred
• Board Informatics Certification preferred Required Minimum
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training • Extensive experience in
the Clinical and or HealthCare Business Applications specifically
Epic and Cerner strongly preferred • Excellent written and oral
communication skills • Skilled facilitator of virtual meetings and
