Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Omaha, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,290 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Stepdown Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must not be employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with the health system. Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in a stepdown unit. The unit caters to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical needs. Common diagnoses include cardiac issues, nephrology, strokes, and diabetes. Nurses will be responsible for continuous EEG monitoring. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5. RNs are required to titrate drips, including common medications such as Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications. A charge nurse is present on each shift and does take on an assignment. There are nurse aides or patient care techs on the unit, typically in a ratio of 1:10 or 2:20. Shifts run from 0630-1900 and 1830-0700. Weekend requirements are every other weekend, and holiday requirements are every third holiday. No call or standby duties are required. There may be floating requirements to medical floors, ICU, or rehab. The first week includes onboarding, followed by 1-2 days of orientation on the floor. This is considered a fast-paced environment. Successful candidates will possess a positive attitude, effective communication skills, strong critical thinking abilities, and the capability to problem solve. All candidates must adhere to a fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails. Candidates will take a pass/fail exam during orientation. A 90% score is necessary to pass; failure to pass will result in termination of contract. All requests for time off must be submitted upfront, and additional requests will not be approved after submissions. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment. The charting system used is EPIC. This position does not require a BSN. The care setting is acute. The facility is designated as a Trauma Level 2.
