Registered Nurse (RN) | Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care Location: Council Bluffs, IA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,290 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (PALS & TNCC preferred) Must-Have: ICU experience with drips, vents, bipaps Description: RN's must pass a skills exam during orientation. Candidates are given all necessary resources to succeed and must achieve a 90% to pass, or they will be terminated. Candidates must be outside a radius of 50 miles. Candidates may not have current employment with affiliated institutions within the past year. A driver's license is required for verification purposes. Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to comply will lead to termination of the contract. The department consists of a 16-bed unit. Nurse to patient ratio is 2:1. Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and myocardial infarction. Preferred candidates have 2 years of experience in ICU. Previous travel experience is preferred. RNs are required to titrate medications, including vasopressors and sedation. There is a charge nurse on each shift who also takes an assignment. No nurse aides or patient care techs are present on this unit. A hospitalist is available 24/7, and intensivists are in-house during day hours with telemedicine support at night. Respiratory therapy is shared with the emergency department. RNs troubleshoot equipment but do not make adjustments. Centralized tele monitor techs read strips, but nurses must verify them. Shifts run from 1830 to 0700, with every third weekend required. Self-scheduling is not available, and block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Floating to a progressive care unit may occur if needed. Navy blue scrubs are required. Each nurse will undergo unit-specific orientation. All requests for time off must be submitted upfront; additional requests will not be approved. The hospital reserves the right to cancel shifts during the assignment. The charting system used is EPIC.
