Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Omaha, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,290 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Valid RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Candidates may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with the healthcare network. - Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. - Candidates must pass an open-book exam on skills learned during orientation with a score of 90% or higher. Description: The department provides care for adult and geriatric patients. Common diagnoses include cardiac issues, nephrology, strokes, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring. Nurses are required to titrate drips including Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications. There is a Charge Nurse on each shift who takes an assignment. Patient care ratios are typically 1:4-5 for nurses and 1:10 or 2:20 for patient care techs. Shifts are scheduled for 0630-1900 and 1830-0700. Every other weekend and every third holiday are required. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating to medical floors, ICU, or rehab may be necessary. Initial onboarding is followed by 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation. The unit operates in a fast-paced environment. Successful nurses exhibit a positive attitude, strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. RTO must be submitted upfront, with a limit of 7 days or less per 13-week contract. Additional requests for time off will not be approved. The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. The charting system in use is EPIC. This is an acute care setting with a trauma level of 2.
