working with Cynet Health to find a qualified TICU RN in Omaha,
Nebraska, 68124! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing

Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years
License: Active RN License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS,
NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must not be full-time, part-time, or
PRN with any associated facility. Description: This is a Trauma ICU
position. Candidates will go through a manager interview only. The
unit handles various trauma injuries, as it is the only Level 1
trauma center in the system. Common diagnoses include sepsis,
stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, and cardiac arrest. Registered Nurses are
required to titrate drips such as vasopressors, paralytics,
narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics. There is a charge nurse
on each shift, and the charge nurse takes an assignment. Nurse aids
or patient care technicians are present on the unit, with a ratio
of 1:18. Nurses are required to read their own telemetry strips
using Draeger heart monitoring. Shifts are from 0630 to 1830 and
1830 to 0630, with a self-scheduling option managed by the unit
manager. Weekend requirements include working 4 weekend shifts per
6-week schedule. Floating may be required to inpatient units,
excluding certain areas. The dress code includes navy blue scrubs.
The role is in a fast-paced environment with critically ill
patients, requiring strong critical thinking skills, a positive
attitude, and the ability to work as a team player. Time off
requests should be made upfront, with restrictions on additional
requests during the contract period. The hospital reserves the
right to cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment. Experience
with monitoring equipment such as vents, Cpap, BiPap, and high flow
is beneficial. Registered Nurses must troubleshoot with the
equipment. Candidates will be required to pass a skills exam during
the orientation period. Artificial nails are prohibited in all
