NIHSS Must-Have: RN License Description: The position involves
caring for patients in a fast-paced Intensive Care Environment. The
Nurse to Patient Ratios are 1:1-2 in the ICU setting. Common
diagnoses include respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, stroke, and
general surgery cases. Nurses will administer and titrate various
IV medications including vasopressors and sedation. Charge nurses
are present on each shift, and they manage patient assignments.
Patient care techs are available to assist, with a ratio of 1:18.
Registered Nurses will troubleshoot respiratory equipment like
vents and BiPAP. Telemetry monitoring is done with centralized
systems, and RNs must be able to read and interpret strips.
Self-scheduling is not allowed; schedules are created based on unit
needs. Weekend and holiday work is required, with specific
expectations based on unit needs. RNs may be required to float to
other inpatient units as needed. Scrubs should be navy blue. The
unit promotes a team-oriented environment that fosters high-quality
