Medical Laboratory Technician Location: Winnebago, NE Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,966 per week Shift Information: Nights - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 16 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician Profession: Medical Laboratory Specialty: Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technician Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 7 PM to 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of one year preferred License: Medical Technologist must be certified/registered by one of the following agencies: MT(ASCP), MT(AMT), CLS(NCA); Medical Laboratory Technician must be certified/registered by one of the following agencies: MLT(ASCP), MLT(AMT), CLT(NCA). Certifications: Graduated from an approved school of Medical Technology/Laboratory Science Must-Have: Knowledge of hospital laboratory practices, including infection control requirements and chemical and biological hazards. Description: To perform laboratory testing as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician. This position is a 7 on 7 off schedule working Wednesday to Tuesday during the week scheduled. The shift is from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. This role will involve working every other weekend during the scheduled work week, and holidays when it aligns with the schedule. Overtime is earned over 80 hours in a pay period. The candidate must be able to manage workflow independently during overnight shifts. Multitasking, adjusting priorities, and responding to emergencies is essential. Skills in specimen acquisition are also required. Under direct supervision, the MT/MLT will provide technical support by performing analyses, tests, and procedures that assist in the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of diseases. Duties include accessioning and ordering tests in the Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and processing specimens with referral to reference laboratories. The position involves operating, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure efficiency and accuracy in results, as well as basic troubleshooting as needed. Documentation must be maintained according to regulatory agencies and laboratory policies and procedures. Adherence to sterilization and infection control procedures is required due to regular exposure to infectious clinical specimens. The candidate should demonstrate excellent customer service skills and should be comfortable with routine phlebotomy. Above-average social interaction and reasoning/analysis skills are necessary, with the ability to work with minimal supervision. The position requires the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently while employing professional verbal and written communication skills.
