Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Omaha, Nebraska, 68124!
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse)

Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years
License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ONS/ONCC Must-Have:
Chemotherapy certification required Description: RN's are required
to pass a skills exam during orientation. The exam is open book,
and resources are provided to ensure success. A score of 90% or
higher is necessary to pass. Candidates must not be employed with
any facility associated with this health system. Artificial nails
are prohibited in departments providing patient care. Refusal to
comply will lead to termination. Common patient diagnoses include
oncology and trauma. PCU experience is acceptable, but oncology
experience is preferred. RNs may occasionally titrate insulin and
cardizem drips. The ratio of RNs to patients is 1:4 in PCU and 1:5
in med/surg on day shifts. On night shifts, the ratio is 1 RN to
5-6 patients. Staff members are expected to work every other
weekend. Self-scheduling is encouraged. Nursing assistant support
is available, as well as a charge nurse. Hands-free communication
is not applicable. Support staff includes PT/OT, case managers,
social workers, educators, and dieticians. Common drips and
medications administered include chemotherapy, heparin, cardizem,
and protonix. Training for ventilators and hemodynamic monitoring
is available on-the-job. The electronic medical record system used
is EPIC. IV pumps are Alaris systems. Specialty equipment available
includes Lyko lifts and other lift equipment. Teamwork and a
positive attitude are highly valued in candidates. The unit serves
a diverse patient population and treats each individual with
respect. Patient experience is emphasized through hourly rounding.
