Provide specialized nursing care in a dynamic Progressive Care Unit supporting adult patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, and stroke conditions. This contract role in Elkhorn, NE offers the chance to work in a high-acuity setting with a collaborative team focused on quality patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive nursing care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 in a 28-bed unit. - Manage monitoring and titration of drips including heparin, octreotide, insulin, and various IV medications. - Collaborate with charge nurses, nursing aides, and telemetry/monitor techs to optimize patient care. - Participate in frequent admissions, transfers, and discharges requiring adaptability within a fast-paced environment. - Maintain compliance with unit policies including dress code (navy blue scrubs) and fingernail regulations. - Float to other hospital areas such as Med/Surg, ICU, and ED as needed, leveraging your versatile clinical skills. Qualifications and Experience: - Current RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. - Ability to successfully complete a pass/fail open book exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%. - Valid drivers license and residency within 50 miles of Elkhorn, NE. - No concurrent employment with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facilities (including CHI or Dignity Health). - Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. - Commitment to professional appearance and adherence to facility policies regarding artificial nails. Schedule: - Rotating 12-hour shifts: 06:3019:00 and 18:3007:00. - Every other weekend and rotating holidays. - Six-week scheduling cycle; unit-specific orientation includes one week classroom and two 12-hour clinical shifts.
