Join the dedicated team at Performance Foodservice as a CDL A Route Driver, where you play a key role in our mission to provide exceptional food delivery services. Our drivers are the backbone of our operations, ensuring that our diverse range of products reaches our customers efficiently and safely. As part of our team, you will drive modern, well-maintained vehicles and enjoy a strong support system designed to make your job as seamless as possible. Safely operate a tractor-trailer to transport food and food-related products to customer locations within assigned routes. Inspect vehicle for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance planning. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules, adhering to strict safety and timing standards. Unload goods at customer locations, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of orders delivered. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Collect and verify delivery instructions, obtaining signatures where necessary. Report defects, accidents, or violations and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Proven work experience as a truck driver with a clean driving record. Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.). Strong organizational and time management skills.
