Grumman Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as an
Atmospheric Science Research Developer based out of Bellevue,
Nebraska.What you'll get to do:
- Apply environmental models and data to provide decision advice
for various DoD military systems
- Research and apply new capabilities to enhance the performance
of land, atmospheric and space environmental models.
- Validate and verify current land, atmospheric and space
environmental models and their impact to DoD military systems and
provide recommendations for areas of improvement
- Conduct basic research in electromagnetic propagation to
understand the impact of the environment at specific wavelengths
and assist the DoD in sensor design for future military
systemsBasic Qualifications:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science or similar discipline
(STEM) with 5 years of experience as an atmospheric scientist; or 3
years' experience with a Master's degree; or 0 years with PhD.
- Experience with running advanced environmental models on High
Performance Computing systems.
- Experience with verification and validation of environmental
models
- Familiarity with scripting and coding languages such as Python
and Fortran
- Familiarity with executing projects within an Agile
framework
- Self-driven, able to tackle challenges, solve problems with
minimal oversight and make recommendation for solutions/process
improvement to leadership
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Minimal travel is expected.Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with environmental models used by Air Force

- Familiarization with radio propagation models Salary Range:
$87,600 USD - $131,400 USD Employees may be eligible for a
discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are
designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow
employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President
or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In
