That support comes through in our work, as we are united by our mission of creating opportunities for people where they live, learn, and work.Nelnet Bank is seeking a Senior Model Developer who will report to the Chief Credit Officer but will also support the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Risk Officer in all aspects of the development, documentation, and ongoing validation of complex statistical models used in loss forecasting, loan loss reserves, credit score cards, etc. Such models are used to support our most complex quantitative, statistical, and data-oriented initiatives. This role will use a blend of statistics, analytics, mathematics, programming, business acumen and modeling to provide strategic recommendations and insight across the bank's consumer lending products.**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**--- Design, build, deploy, document, and validate custom, predictive models and algorithms using statistical disciplines and machine learning libraries--- Conduct advanced statistical analyses with a focus on producing actionable recommendations and strategic guidance for bank leadership--- Mine, clean, process, transform and join data from a variety of sources including SQL servers, data warehouses, AWS environments, SalesForce, internal systems, flat files, etc.--- Work with external vendors such as credit reporting agencies and other industry data aggregators--- Analyze and synthesize data using database and ETL tools--- Navigate and work within the AWS cloud suite--- Use common BI and data visualization tools (Microsoft PowerBI preferred)**EDUCATION:**Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or programming discipline. Quantitative disciplines are those that require a heavy amount of mathematics, statistics or analysis, including, but not limited to, fields such as math, physics, finance or economics. Master's degree in statistics and/or econometrics highly preferred.**EXPERIENCE:**At least 4-years related work experience with model development and deep statistical analytics, preferably within a regulated bank environment.
