Job Description:

Bellevue University, the largest private, non-profit University in Nebraska, is seeking to fill a full-time Assistant Professor faculty member position in the College of Science and Technology. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expertise in areas related to computer science and information systems, such as system analysis and design, database systems, networking, cloud services, security, and software development. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of, and enthusiasm for, teaching these topics at the university level.

Performance Functions:

  • Teach across a spectrum of computer science and information systems topics and courses, both in-class and online
  • Actively engage with students, both in-class and online, and provide constructive feedback on assignments
  • Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process
  • Develop and maintain computer science curricula in both classroom and online formats
  • Participate in program assessment and committee/community service
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean, or Assistant Dean. This may include managing adjunct faculty performance. Qualifications/Skills:
    • MS or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; PhD in like fields desirable
    • Relevant industry experience in computer science, information systems, or software development preferred
    • Experience in teaching and curriculum development across a spectrum of technology topics is a plus
    • Demonstrated skills in several of the following areas is preferred: Software Engineering, SQL and NoSQL databases, Python, C++, Cloud (Amazon Web Services, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), Artificial Intelligence, Agile Methodology, and DevOps
    • A commitment to excellence in teaching and scholastic activities
