supervision of the Director of IT Infrastructure, this
classification level is responsible for designing, implementing,
and managing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions
platform. This role involves collaborating with internal teams to
understand requirements, providing architectural guidance, and
ensuring that solutions align with best practices and
organizational goals. Cloud Engineer also plays a key role in
migrating existing systems to the cloud and optimizing Cloud
infrastructure for performance and cost-efficiency. The ideal
candidate will have deep expertise in Cloud services like AWS, GCP,
and AZURE services, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices, and
will be passionate about leveraging cloud technology to improve
performance, security, and operational efficiency. Location: 521 S.
14th Street Lincoln, NE 68508 Salary: A IT Cloud Engineer ‘s salary
range is $75,746.52 - $92,289.93 After probation period is
completed, the Permanent wage will increase at least 2.5%. Pay rate
may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal
constraints, if approved. Job Duties 1. Design and implement
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using cloud services tools. Configure
and manage core provider services, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM,
RDS, Lambda, and others based on project requirements. Collaborate
with DevOps teams to establish CI/CD pipelines and automate
deployments. Develop automation scripts to streamline cloud
operations, including provisioning, scaling, securing and
monitoring. 2. Collaborate with stakeholders to define the
organization’s cloud strategy, ensuring alignment with business
objectives and security policies. Assess and recommend appropriate
cloud services, based on cost, performance, and business needs. 3.
Lead cloud migration projects, including evaluating on-premises
workloads, planning migration paths, and ensuring seamless
transitions. 4. Optimize cloud resources for performance,
scalability, and cost-efficiency. Regularly analyze resource usage
and identify opportunities to improve performance and reduce costs
. 5. Create detailed documentation for architecture designs,
configurations, and processes. 6. Train and mentor team members on
cloud architecture best practices, tools, and new features. 7.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Define and
enforce governance practices to maintain data integrity and
security withing the Cloud environment. Design, architect,
implement and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions that are
scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs. Translate
business requirements into technical specifications for cloud
infrastructure and application solutions. Develop cloud
architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices to support
cloud solutions at scale. Develops and implements strategies for
server management including monitoring performance; preventative
maintenance, problem avoidance, and troubleshooting. Ensure
compliance with industry standards and regulations by using
available cloud service’s tools The above classification

needs of the department Requirements/Qualifications Minimum
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related
field; 3 years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on
Web Services. Proven experience designing, implementing and
managing complex cloud infrastructure solutions in enterprise
environments.; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties
of the job such as those listed above. All educational credits must
be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S.
Dept. of Education. Other: Must be authorized to work in the United
States. Knowledge Cloud Architect certifications such as Cloud
Certified Solutions Architect, Certified DevOps Engineer, or
Certified SysOps Administrator; Strong knowledge of core cloud
services, like AWS’s EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM,
CloudFormation, and CloudWatch; Strong understanding of cloud
networking concepts including VPCs, VPNs, Security Groups, and
Network ACLs; Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices and
proficiency in Infrastructure; Knowledge of hybrid cloud solutions,
integrating various cloud services with on-premises or other cloud
environments; Skills Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK; Experience with
DevOps and CI/CD practices and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI,
AWS CodePipeline, etc.; Scripting and automation experience with
Python, Bash, or similar languages; Experience with
containerization and microservices; Understanding of Zero Trust
security models and tools such as Shield, Guard Duty, Security
Groups, Config, etc.; Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus
on root cause analysis and continuous improvement; Good
communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work as a
team with coworkers, supervisors and others to sufficiently
exchange or convey information and receive work direction;
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and
projects effectively; Utilizing communication and interpersonal
skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the
general public and others to sufficiently exchange or convey
information and to receive work direction. Physical Requirements
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to
lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work
