Job Description:
Waste Connections is seeking dedicated and reliable candidates
for the position of Local Garbage Truck Driver within our
Transportation & Logistics team. As a vital component of our waste
services company, this role focuses on providing top-notch
residential, commercial, and industrial waste collection services.
Our drivers are the face of Waste Connections, representing our
commitment to service excellence in every interaction and ensuring
safe and efficient waste disposal that respects both community and
environment. Operate garbage trucks within designated routes in the
local area, ensuring timely pickup and safe disposal of waste.
Perform daily vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure
operational safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with dispatch and route managers to optimize routes and
improve service efficiency. Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle,
adhering to company standards and local sanitation regulations.
Provide excellent customer service, addressing and escalating
customer issues as required. Adhere to all safety protocols while
driving and during waste collection, minimizing risk of accidents
and injuries. Complete all required documentation, including logs
for route details, vehicle condition, and any incidents.
Proficiency in operating heavy vehicles, specifically garbage
trucks Strong spatial awareness and ability to maneuver large
vehicles in tight spaces Basic mechanical knowledge to perform
vehicle maintenance checks Ability to follow maps and navigate
optimal routes Excellent communication and customer service skills
