Business Group Highlights Defense The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training and logistics and fleet management solutions. Responsibilities Install, maintain and upgrade Microsoft Advanced Server environment consisting of Windows operating system 2003, 2008, 2008R2, 2012 and 2012R2 Perform advanced server support functions, such as Level 2 and Level 3 problem resolution Accomplish system administration support for domain and enterprise elevated privileges Manage Active Directory and replication between sites Monitor site traffic; help scale site capacity to meet traffic demands Perform backup and recovery operations, isolate and resolve backup issues Maintain clustered resources and services, identify and resolve failures Maintain file systems integrity, identify and resolve permission issues Proactively conduct performance monitoring of systems and applications Provide on-call support to server outages Identify processing requirements and schedule automated tasks Work directly with Application users, outside vendors and service center(s) to provide user support in resolving application issues Adhere to and implement security requirements for Windows Server systems Understand the capabilities and applicable computer hardware configurations, windows server systems, virtualized guests; database and backup and recovery systems Essential Job Functions Administer elevated account, creation, management and deletion Modify Active Directory schema Review and modify Group Policy Perform user and shared file restores Administer and perform clustered resources maintenances Manage root and child folder permissions Apply security updates and perform routine maintenance Monitor server systems and applications, using enterprise application, scripts and automated tasks Qualifications Administering physical and virtualized Windows Server 2008 or later Managing Active Directory Structure - Group Policy Objects, Group Assignments etc. Understand dependencies between hardware, software, network, and database Server/client system security, operation and performance tuning Desired knowledge/experience: Implementing Defense Information System Agency Security Technical Implementation Guide Using and maintaining Windows Server Update Services Using and maintaining System Center Operations Manager Using and maintaining System Center Configuration Manager Updating and maintaining SharePoint 2013 or later environments Updating and maintaining Exchange 2010 Database management of Structured Query Language 2012 or later PowerShell VMWare vSphere 6.5 or later Required Certification: Information Assurance Technician level II (IAT-II) compliant certification, such as Security +, Cyber Security Analyst + or able to obtain certification within 4 months from start date Desired Certifications, one or more of the following: Windows Server 2008 and/or 2012 SharePoint 2010, 2013 and/or 2016 Information Technology Infrastructure Library foundations Additional Requirements: Communicate effectively Manage time efficiently Work independently or as part of a team Ability to adhere to DoD and program policies and guidance Follow formal configuration management processes and procedures About Perspecta What matters to our nation, is what matters to us.
