Emergency Dispatch Communication Specialist- Omaha, NE (Position starts June 28th, 2021)

This position is on-site at our 24/7 dispatch facility in Omaha, NE. It is not a remote position.

You can help save lives! The Dispatch Communication Specialist is responsible to serve as a communications coordinator between all customers of Air Methods Communications (AirCom), including aircraft flight crews, pre-hospital health care providers and other qualified callers.

The exciting role of a communication specialists for Air Methods enables you to:

  • Assisting hospital staff or 911 dispatchers across the nation looking to transport critical patients
  • Interact with pilots and medical experts all across the country
  • Actively flight follow the growing number of aircraft in the Air Method's Fleet
  • Be a part of the largest Air Medical Flight Following Center in the world!!!

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

 

Schedule: 12 hour shifts/overnight schedules and overtime available. Shift start times 5pm, 5:30pm or 6pm

Pay: Dependent on experience. Pay increase for active EMT/Paramedic certification

 

Responsibilities:

Performs emergency dispatching for Life Flight and Ground Ambulances

 

Skills:

Ability to be calm during emergency/stressful situations

Ability to record and relay reports accurately

Advanced customer service and phone skills

Strong interpersonal skills and high degree of collaboration at all levels

Intermediate computer and data entry skills, including using Microsoft Office Suite
