Primary Hours:

  • 9 a.m. 2 p.m. OR
    • 12 p.m. 5 p.m. Primary Function: The Communications Center Associate is responsible for fulfilling departmental printing, copying, and collating requests. The position will also be responsible for sorting and distributing intercampus and regular mail, metering outgoing mail and preparing packages for shipping.

      Essential Functions:
      • Receives stacks of bundled mail and packages from USPS, Fed Ex, UPS & Amazon vendors.
      • Performs the sorting and distribution of external and internal mail to appropriate employees/tenants/departments of Bellevue University.
      • Ability to load mail into a vehicle cart and deliver mail throughout campus to the proper departments.
      • Uses electronic mail tracking system to track incoming and outgoing packages.
      • Responsible for weighing and metering outgoing mail and packages and affix proper postage. Prepares outgoing packages and mail for UPS shipping using UPS/World Shipping or Fed Ex.
      • Answer employees questions regarding communication services i.e. rates, tracking, vendors, etc.
      • Prints, copies, binds and/or collates material per department request.
      • Signs-out University vehicles to approved drivers.

        Marginal Duties:
        • Perform other duties as assigned.
          Qualifications:
          • High School diploma or equivalent
          • Driving is an essential function of this position. Must have a valid driver s license, good driving record, and be insurable under BU s insurance policy.
          • Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal communication, organizational and customer service skills.
          • Previous experience in shipping and receiving or general office experience preferred.
          • High level of attention to detail.
          • Knowledge of basic office machines (fax, copier, printer, binder, mail meter) highly desirable.
          • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
            Working Conditions:
            • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis
            • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis
            • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
            • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
