Job Description:

Teaching Assistant, Noor Academy, Omaha, NE: Teaching Assistant will support our teaching staff in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

The Teaching Assistant will help facilitate classroom activities, provide additional student support, and assist in daily classroom management.

Classroom Support: Assist teachers with preparing and organizing instructional materials, such as worksheets, visual aids, and lesson plans.

Set up equipment and materials needed for lessons and activities, ensuring all resources are ready for daily classes.

Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, following academy policies.

Student Engagement: Lead small group activities and one-on-one tutoring sessions to reinforce lessons and provide additional practice for students, particularly those struggling with specific concepts.

Assist students with special learning needs, including those with disabilities and English as a Second Language (ESL) students, to help them understand the material and stay on track with the curriculum.

Provide extra help to students during recreation periods and assist in managing their behavior during class and outdoor activities.

Supervision and Behavior Management: Supervise students during class transitions, lunch periods, and field trips, ensuring their safety and adherence to school rules.

Monitor students' behavior and address minor disciplinary issues, reporting more significant concerns to the lead teacher as needed.

Encourage positive behavior and guide students in line with Islamic teachings and values.

Administrative Tasks: Track student attendance and maintain accurate class performance and participation records.

Assist teachers with grading assignments, quizzes, and projects according to established grading criteria, ensuring timely and accurate feedback.

Prepare reports on student progress for teachers and assist in preparing for parent-teacher conferences.

Collaboration and Professional Development: participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and training workshops to stay updated on the academy's teaching methods and policies.

Collaborate with teachers to identify students' needs and suggest strategies to enhance their learning experience.

Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and staff to foster a supportive educational environment.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or foreign equivalent; 1 year of working with children in a classroom or educational setting within an Islamic learning environment.

Fluency in Russian and Tajik is required.

CPR and First Aid Certification required.

Knowledge of the Quran is required.

Any occupation in which the required skills are acquired.
